Database Inspector

Free WordPress Database Inspector

See what’s happening under the hood.

SAC Database Inspector helps administrators diagnose database health, plugin footprints, autoloaded options, and leftover or orphaned data—without automatic cleanup, black-box scoring, or guesswork.

Inspect. Understand. Decide. Clean.

Inspection first by design

Clarity before cleanup.

There is no “clean everything” button, no telemetry, and no background external requests. Inspection is read-only by default. Any supported maintenance action requires an explicit choice and confirmation from an authorized administrator.

Explainable health score

A deterministic, severity-colored score separated into runtime, storage, and maintenance categories—not a mysterious black-box number.

Graceful diagnostics

View table and database sizes when the host permits it. Restricted information_schema access becomes a clear fallback, not an error state.

Private by default

Inspection and exports stay local. No tracking or telemetry is added, and sensitive-looking option names are centrally redacted.

Conservative ownership tracing

Follow the evidence. Don’t guess.

Database Inspector uses exact-prefix evidence to trace options, metadata, transients, and custom tables back to likely owners. It reports explicit confidence levels and distinguishes active plugins, inactive-but-installed plugins, not-installed plugins, WordPress core, themes, and unknown owners.

Inactive plugins are never mislabeled as missing or orphaned. Ambiguous evidence stays ambiguous so administrators can make informed decisions.

Deep, useful visibility

Find the data that deserves a closer look.

Autoload and ghost data

Search a paginated, size-sorted autoload inspector with serialization, protection, owner, status, confidence, and size indicators. Previews are capped and sensitive-looking option names are redacted.

Maintenance findings

Inspect orphaned metadata, expired transients, missing-plugin options and tables, stale cron entries, object-cache status, and bounded maintenance counts—all as read-only findings.

Unified reports

Generate redacted JSON, CSV, and HTML exports from one normalized report for consistent troubleshooting, documentation, and review.

Controlled maintenance

Careful actions with safety rails.

Every maintenance request checks administrator capabilities and nonces, requires explicit targets and confirmation, and respects read-only mode. Changes are capped at 100 records per request.

Optional AI explanations

Provider-neutral help—explanation only.

On WordPress 7.0, Database Inspector can use the built-in AI Client if the site owner has already configured a text-generation connector under Settings → Connectors. There is no SAC-specific API key setup.

AI receives only capped, redacted metadata after an administrator explicitly requests an explanation. It never receives raw option values, credentials, salts, or tokens. AI cannot run SQL, clean data, change options, or restore snapshots.
